Patient
H&P
Cerebral ifnarction six months ago with prevailing paralysis of right arm. Lately been affected by recurring attacks, ie transitoric iscemic attacks (TIA).
Technical description of the examination
No contrast given.
Reading
Left occipital side is unchanged (b,c). The hypodense area in the left parietooccipital region (d,e) is less prominent than after a month. In addition the left occipital horn has grown larger, as a consequence of the infarction area getting smaller. The damage will from now on remain unchanged. There are no new lesions, but recurrent attacks may be caused by a focus sending thrombi to the brain e.g. from stenoses in the carotids, thrombi in the arteries, diseases of the aorta.
Conclusion
OLD INFARCTION IN THE LEFT OCCIPITAL AND LEFT PARIETOOCCIPITAL REGION.
